Remember, what you buy is what you carry!
According to Evie, “At some of our sightseeing spots there are Africans selling crafts on the side. But we have a Super store called Cambanos & Son and they are duty free & cater only for tourists & all the embassy staff from all countries. There you can find from the cheapest to the most expensive African crafts. It is a wholesaling place so the prices & service is excellent. He does not stock anything that is not handmade on the African continent. There you will also find, jewelry pieces with white/yellow gold , semi-precious stones, diamonds & tanzanite (blue) stone which is considered to be the stone of Africa!! There is only 1 or 2 mines left in Tanzania. Price wise slightly cheaper than a diamond but one can find a little pieces for between $500-$1000 for a souvenir.”
